This is probably the question you are asking yourself. 
Some get into this because of spiritual conviction as they realize that the Bible does discuss directly the education of your children.  However, it does discuss that education is the responsibility of the parent and not the government.

Many are beginning homeschooling to *save the child* either from bad social situations or academic situations in their present school.
