Explore the heart. Discover the complexities of its development and structure. Follow the blood through the blood vessels. Wander through the web like body systems. Learn how to have a healthy heart and how to monitor your heart's health. Look back at the history of heart science.  To learn more about the heart, try taking a look at some recommended resource materials, enrichment activities, and a brief glossary.

The world we live in is populated by millions of plants and animals.  Yet, each one is an individual. Individual plants and animals are grouped together in families, according to their physical structure and their behavior.  Families of living things interact with each other and with their neighborhood. All living things have a circle of life. Birth, growth, reproduction, and death are natural parts of the natural world.

Professor Koning has put his life work on this site, with lesson plans in 6 week, 14 week and 9 week schedules.  He has several different courses available along with his worldview.  This is a site for anyone who needs to teach their children High School Biology and needs it free, or as close to it as possible.

Canada's Science Magazine for Kids, lots of great stuff.  This site has some FLASH software on it, and you will need a newer browser to see the graphics correctly.

This interactive program is part of the "Whole Frog" project. The program allows interactive dissection of a frog, and includes the capability to make on-the-fly movies. A browser that supports forms and sensitive images is needed. The dissection kit is available in a number of languages.  Test your knowledge of frog anatomy with the Virtual Frog Builder Game.

It has the inner workings of the human body on one link, and the inner workings of a car on the other link.

They offer free materials for educators and I just received mine - they're great! Much better than the free ones from Jefferson Labs. I got 3 different lecture series of 4 videos each, two different CDs (one is a really neat "Virtual Immunology Lab") and it also came with teacher & student guide books. Here's the web site, check it out: ~psam

The Annenberg/CPB Exhibits Collection that could be a great supplement to a health or life science class. This site, for your more mature middle schoolers, has many physics, and other scientific lesson plans, some for sale, some for free, based on PBS and other scientific programs.
Virtual Labs and Lectures online for free.  This is a fantastic site. My future paramedic loves it!!!!!! ~Judy

If anyone is looking for biological supplies (preserved specimens to dissect, anatomic models, lab equipment, etc.), I got an interesting catalog.

I bought Tony's microscope from GreatScopes -- a homeschooling family.  This is a REAL microscope, not a toy. And it didn't cost much more than the toy one they have in Highlights Magazine. ~Julie

We also looked here in Austin at Science Stuff ... a home based business selling ALL kinds of science stuff including microscopes and telescopes. The owner was really helpful (although we got a better deal from the other place). They even how owl pellets, and other such scientific stuff to delve into. ~Julie
